‘kay.. it’s been almost a month after WYD but here I am talking about it just now. Anyway, we, Janella, Anna and Leo, attended only the weekend part since we didn’t think we had enough time to join the whole week without sacrificing the days which are initially allotted for us to prepare for our JTA in France. So, the experience, for me, was blahh. I personally didn’t felt that I was immersed into the WYD experience per se. Maybe it was since we only attended the weekend part of it and haven’t really met and got to know anyone. We met a lot of pilgrims from all over the world but never really got the chance to know them well as persons who share the same beliefs and faiths as I have. I actually never spent much time reflecting or PRAYING 😦 or thinking about my faith since we didn’t know where the catechisms and such talks are and, well, we were running short in time. But then again, the week was still filled with blessings as we saw the pope in person, twice! And I’m also thankful for the opportunity to sacrifice and endure the heat during the super sunny and hot Saturday day at Cuatro Vientos to end with a night of prayer with the Pope – mind you, we walked around 15 kilometers that very day under the sun! Overall it was a very nice experience, especially seeing a lot, and I mean a lot, of youth gathered to celebrate their faith. But it was not, uhm, “life changing” as I would put it. What I secretly wished was that it could have been more meaningful if I attended the whole week and spent it with YFC (okay, maybe I just missed them. WYD was sorta kinda like ILC anyway haha). I really really really hope we can go to the next one – at Rio – not just as a group or as an org but as a family! goshhhhhh.. I miss you all 😦
