Rant # 523679

27 Sep

This is so frustrating. My internet kinda sucks, uh wait no, it sucks. I was skyping with my mom and got really frustrated because even though I already turned off my video, still we weren’t able to understand each other. So, I told her I’m gonna call her phone using my french sim which still has around 12 euros of credit. After 3 minutes of clear conversation, I ran out of credit. /wrist

Sicko

23 Sep

After a few weeks of staying in Lille, I must say the weather here isn’t perfect! Well, I’m saying that from a sick person’s point of view as I have suffered from tonsilitis, fever and cough (all those nasty stuff) for a week now. I went to the doctor today and paid 23 euros for that :O shame! but, nah! it’s covered by our insurance haha. see picture of me below with my prescription which also cost me another 25 bucks. thankfully, again, covered by our insurance. It’s quite expensive to get sick here you know 😀
It’s also hard since there’s no mama to hug me and comfort me while I’m not feeling well. It was also very confusing since my meds’ instructions are all in French (I didn’t listened at all to my doctor, she was very bad in speaking English). It’s ridiculous that I have to open google translate and type the instructions just to figure out how the medicines should be taken since they were all weird. I happen to discover this multivitamins Berocca given to me, and I didn’t figure out at first how to take it. As the one side touched my tongue, I was surprised that it fizzled! haha! Thanks to google, I researched about it and found out that it was supposed to be dissolved in water and it normally fizzles as it dissolves. Sorry, walang ganyan sa bundok namin hahaha! I was surprised that no tablets of some sort were given to me, all were to be dissolved in water, another was a syrup and one was a nasal thingy which I’m honestly not sure if I’m doing the inhaling thingy correctly. Oh well :)) On a happy note, we’re going to Luxembourg tomorrow! But before that, sleep girl gotssss to go and gotsss to sleep!

World Youth Day :)

23 Sep

‘kay.. it’s been almost a month after WYD but here I am talking about it just now. Anyway, we, Janella, Anna and Leo, attended only the weekend part since we didn’t think we had enough time to join the whole week without sacrificing the days which are initially allotted for us to prepare for our JTA in France. So, the experience, for me, was blahh. I personally didn’t felt that I was immersed into the WYD experience per se. Maybe it was since we only attended the weekend part of it and haven’t really met and got to know anyone. We met a lot of pilgrims from all over the world but never really got the chance to know them well as persons who share the same beliefs and faiths as I have. I actually never spent much time reflecting or PRAYING 😦 or thinking about my faith since we didn’t know where the catechisms and such talks are and, well, we were running short in time. But then again, the week was still filled with blessings as we saw the pope in person, twice! And I’m also thankful for the opportunity to sacrifice and endure the heat during the super sunny and hot Saturday day at Cuatro Vientos to end with a night of prayer with the Pope – mind you, we walked around 15 kilometers that very day under the sun! Overall it was a very nice experience, especially seeing a lot, and I mean a lot, of youth gathered to celebrate their faith. But it was not, uhm, “life changing” as I would put it. What I secretly wished was that it could have been more meaningful if I attended the whole week and spent it with YFC (okay, maybe I just missed them. WYD was sorta kinda like ILC anyway haha). I really really really hope we can go to the next one – at Rio – not just as a group or as an org but as a family! goshhhhhh.. I miss you all 😦
